B - Broken Heart

B - Broken Heart ๐Ÿ’” Did you know... there is such a thing as Broken Heart Syndrome? It can cause chest pain, shortness of breath, and resembles the signs of having a heart attack. There is no quick fix to mend a broken heart, and to simply stop loving is not an option. The pain we feel is directly in proportion to how much we loved our pet. So what can you do to repair a broken heart? ๐Ÿ’ donโ€™t pretend to โ€˜be okโ€™, share your grief to those who will listen and support you. ๐Ÿ’ write down your feelings, write a letter to your pet and express how much you love them. ๐Ÿ’ self care is important, get involved in a hobby that sparks joy, it could be something non animal related. ๐Ÿ’ allow yourself to love again, you may have other animals in the household, but the bond is not as strong as with the pet you have lost. Let them comfort you in your time of need. ๐Ÿ’ connect with community, I often recommend two Facebook grief support groups: Heavenly Pets and the Pet Loss Support and Terminal Illness Group. The groups are for people to share their stories and photos, and support each other through the most challenging time. ๐Ÿ’”
