Grief Myths - Grieve Alone

If you have ever lost a loved one, you understand what grief really feels like. It can stop us from functioning. It’s debilitating. Constantly crying and feeling empty. Not wanting to eat, or go out and withdraw from being around people, or other animals. Some prefer to be alone, as they may feel embarrassed about showing their emotions. 

 

This is normal and it’s OK. If you have a friend, partner or family member that you trust, who is able to listen free of judgement, tell them how you feel. You don’t have to go through this alone. 

 

There are also helplines, and counsellors like myself around the country and overseas that are passionate about the recovery from grief and getting back to a ‘normal’ life, a new normal. 

 

You will never forget the love you had for your pet, it will never disappear. You can however, get rid of the pain associated with your loss. 💚
